Eversource warns customers that prices for gas and electricity are likely to rise this winter due to rising global demand.

The utility sent an email to customers stating that January will see an increase in electricity bills due to the demand for natural gas.

Eversource stated that if the proposed rates are approved in their state, the average residential customer would see a 25% increase, or approximately $30, to their total bill, compared to December.

Eversource stated that total bills will vary depending on energy consumption, rate customers pay and weather conditions.
